We the undersigned strongly urge the Salt Lake City Planning Commission and the Salt Lake City Council to postpone approval of the Expanding Housing Options zoning code.

We believe the pause will:

• Allow residents and officials to jointly participate in shaping the city’s housing future.

• Introduce fresh thinking and recommendations that might lead to better
  solutions. 

• Enable a greater percentage of Salt Lake residents to become acquainted with this proposal. Awareness of the EHO is low. 

• Explore revisions so a critical demographic — growing families with children — can be included in the EHO.
