What's in the city's plan?

Expand housing choices beyond single-family homes.

Build complete neighborhoods where residents can easily reach grocery stores, parks, schools, health care, restaurants and daily services.

Transit-oriented development around North Temple and TRAX stations.

Reduce barriers created by I-15, rail lines and industrial areas.

Enhance the Jordan River Parkway and Folsom Trail with amenities and public-facing development.

Protect environmental health.
Critical Concerns

Gentrification and displacement. Long-term residents might be priced out of the neighborhood.

Lack of basic needs like groceries stores, retail, food shops and restaurants, etc.

Infrastructure needs won’t keep pace with development such as water and sewer, congestion, street capacity, and parking.

Loss of neighborhood character. Increased density could reduce the area’s residential feel.

Environmental justice issues related to compromised air quality, limited tree canopy, urban heat, heavy truck traffic might not be adequately addressed.
