Liberty Wells Townhome Project

What's in the developers plan?

  • 22-for-sale townhome units located at 1990 South 500 East.

  • Rezone lot from R-1/5,000 to RMF-35.

  • Repurposed land previously occupied by the LDS Church Wells Ward, built in 1926 and damaged in the 2020 earthquake. The church has since been removed.

  • Each unit would consist of 4-bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and a two-car
    garage. 1,740 sq. ft..

  • More than 3,000 sq. ft. set aside for a playground and over 12,000 sq. ft. of Open Space.

  • Units would sell at market rate: around $590,000.

Critical Concerns

  • One minor adjustment. The project was scaled back from 24 to 22 units after neighbors requested a greater setback between the existing homes and the project.

Neighborhood Housing Alliance Position: A wise use of a vacant parcel. The townhomes will be 30 ft. high and reflect local character. Brings much-needed owner-occupied family housing to SLC.
