What's in the city's plan?

Prohibit camping and obstruction on sidewalks, streets, park strips, public plazas and other publicly owned property during 11p.m. – 5 a.m.
Offer clearer definitions of camping – i.e. using public property as a residence or dwelling; sleeping in vehicles during 11 p.m.- 5 a.m.
Keep public places open and accessible for pedestrian, people using
wheelchairs, emergency responders, and the general public.
Set procedures for handling unclaimed property left in parks.
Clarify and synchronize code provisions and terminology.
Make enforcement standards easier to understand.

City may want to adjust definitions or conditions relating to sleeping in cars overnight.
Introduce the amendment on a test basis for a certain period of time to make code adjustments if necessary.
